Sylvie Eyberg selects, reframes and reproduces details of printed images that she associates with text fragments. Culled from magazines and popular print media, the images and texts she uses are laid out into precise yet lyrical arrangements, blown up or made smaller and printed as monochromatic prints.
Eyberg plays with the halftone pattern that makes up the internal structure of images, pointing to their ephemeral quality as transient signifiers, always tied to language.
In addition to these works made using several printing techniques (photography, silkscreen, heliogravure, inkjet, offset and risograph printing), she has produced a series of videos since 2008, where images and words (spoken and/or written) find connections and references to literature and cinema.
