About the artist
b. 1967 in Ghent, Belgium
Lives and works in The Netherlands.
Drawing is the connective thread running through Catharina van Eetvelde’s practice, a continuous mode of engagement with the world rather than a closed, detached activity.
Working across paper, painting, collage, assemblage, animated vector film, embroidery, and song, she devises a complex choreography of materials, lines, and words.
At the heart of this plurality lies a single sustained impulse: the drawn mark as trace, and through it, a refined attentiveness to time, space, and the relationship between the artist’s profound inner and outer experiences.
